Arkansas Duck Hunts

Arkansas Duck Hunting with Getm Waterfowl

GETM Waterfowl offers Guided Arkansas Duck Hunts and Self-Guided Arkansas Duck Hunts options for the regular waterfowl season. This area is known for its hundreds of thousands of wintering waterfowl. During this time hunters can harvest both ducks and geese. Our hunts take place in heated blinds over flooded rice, corn, or soybeans. All hunting must be stopped when a limit is reached or by 2pm in order to allow the waterfowl to rest and use the fields for evening / nighttime feeding. We use a variety of decoys and spread sizes throughout the season to offer our hunters the best chance at a successful hunt. Hunters that choose to hunt our self-guided blinds will have floaters provided in the blinds that must be picked up after each hunt. We do not provide any motorized decoys for self-guided hunts, so hunters may want to bring those and any other decoys they might want to add.

Arkansas Duck Hunts:
Day of the Hunt

Prepare for a great Arkansas duck hunt by fueling up, gathering supplies, and meeting your guide to review the day’s plan before heading out to the blinds. Here’s what to expect for a successful and memorable hunting experience, from sunrise to packing up in the afternoon.

Preparation & Meeting Point

On the morning of your Arkansas duck hunt, we recommend stopping at a gas station to fuel up and grab any food or drinks you’ll need, as the nearest facilities may be up to 45 minutes from your hunting location. Guided hunters should arrive at the guide’s lodge around 5 a.m., where you’ll sign waivers, pay any remaining dues, and can stock up on free coffee and drinks. Self-guided hunters can follow the same process or settle balances remotely to head straight to the field.

Heading to Hunt

Once you’re ready, you’ll drive to the hunting site—just a quick 15-minute trip from the lodge. Expect to see large areas of flooded crops and wetlands that draw in an impressive variety of waterfowl. Guided hunters will be assisted by the guide to load gear into Polaris Rangers for a comfortable ride to the blinds, complete with heaters. Your guide will set up a decoy spread designed to attract both ducks and geese for an immersive hunting experience.

Hunt Overview & Safety Briefing

After the decoys are set, your guide will conduct a safety briefing, outlining the hunt’s expectations and emphasizing safety. At sunrise, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of ducks and geese filling the skies. Cold, windy weather often brings optimal hunting conditions, but regardless of the weather, your guide will do their utmost to ensure a successful day. Hunting wraps up by 2 p.m., or earlier if limits are reached, allowing the fields to rest for the evening.

Wrap-Up & Departure

At the end of the hunt, the guide will assist you in gathering gear and any waterfowl you’ve harvested. Once back at your vehicle, don’t forget to tip your guide—a minimum of $40 per person is recommended. This gratuity helps show appreciation for their expertise and the effort put into your memorable hunt.
